In this project, I was tasked with creating a one-page website featuring a graphic designer. The person I chose was Jessica Bellamy, an award-winning international speaker, workshop facilitator, motion infographic designer, and research analyst. The only constraint in this project was that the layout had to be created exclusively using CSS Grid.

After gathering information about my designer, my first step was to sketch out the general layout for the page. My first layout used the design page on the left. However, halfway through the project, I realized that that layout could be easily recreated using CSS Flexbox. As a result, I decided to redesign the main content area of my site to better show off the abilities of CSS Grid. The page of sketches on the right is the new design I ended up choosing.

For the website’s colors, I decided to keep the palette bright and lively to match my designer. As a result, I chose green as the main color. White, silver, and black were used as accents.

My feature page website went through four major stages of completion. The first two consisted of the first layout design that I made, and the latter two the redesign.

In my final design, my website uses the properties of CSS Grid to change the layout two times in order to make it responsive across all viewports.
